Photographer Submissions
Simonscans has developed a reputation over the last few years of being one of the best amateur model sites on the net. One reason for this is, that we are more interested in actions rather than words; like to get down to basics pretty rapidly. Therefore, if you want to submit to us, do the same.
We don’t want to hear who you’ve had lunch with, or what you plan to do next week, or next month, we just want to see some photos of the girls. You also need to do your homework and work out for yourself exactly what it is we might be looking for in a submission in terms of content and style. If you don’t know the site and our style you’re unlikely to be able to submit sucessfully. The samples area of Simonscans is large enough you shouldn’t have a problem seeing what we tend to shoot.
We don’t buy much content in for a number of reasons, but you are welcome to have a go.
- The models aren’t right. In general you’ll struggle to sell us girls that we have shot already. The sad truth is they rarely get better or ruder as time goes by! Also if the model has been shot by every site we’re also not likely to want shoots of her.
- The location isn’t unique or good enough. We won’t buy in sets shot in the same place as content shot for other sites. The model and location combination must be unique to Simonscans.
- Low technical quality. Its got to be shot on modern equipment – Canon 20D upwards, max quality JPEG or RAW. Out of focus or movement blur are also fail points. in general only 100 ISO is acceptable unless from the very latest cameras – 400 ISO from a Canon 30d or 1d 1d/dsmk2 would be acceptable.
- Short sets. There must be at least 250 images per set, and the set needs to be rude. No more than the first 50 images need to be soft fully clothed, and she should be rude by halfway through the set. This is the single most significant reason for rejecting submissions.
We need the usual ID shot of the model with two forms of official ID, passport and driver license would be ideal. This shot MUST be of the original documents, in focus and readable and shot on one of the setups during the shoot. Even if we have shot her before we still need the ID every time.
We need a signed general model release with each shoot as well. Ideally send us your current one before you do the first shoot so we can confirm its acceptable under UK and US law.
We also need you to sign over full copyright to us, we never buy second rights, limited usage rights or web only. Clearly we always need this to be worldwide as well.
If you’ve not submitted to us in the past please send us a link to thumbs of a full un-edited shoot, and we’ll give you some feedback on possible problems.
Technically, there are few rules about your submission.
- Submit small .jpegs – no less than 800 pixels, no longer than 1200, along the long edge.
- Submit enough for us to be able to make a judgement – the mail server will accept emails of upto 5mb per email, send more than one email if you need.
- Send the images as attachments. Do not send them as links to webhosted images or as zip files.
- All models must be over 18 years of age at the time of the photography. One of the images sent must be a readable copy of the model holding government issued ID displaying her date of birth and her photo.
- If we accept your submission we need at least 150 images per set, with varied poses.
- Images need to be from cameras of at least 8mp in JPEG or RAW format.
